Q: What is graphene?
A: Graphene is an allotrope of carbon, that to a high degree, has the same characteristics and structure as graphite. Unlike graphite, graphene is only one atom layer thick. The atoms are arranged in a hexagonal lattice, which give the material a number of unique characteristics. It is flexible and very light, with a square meter weighing just 0,77mg.
Graphene is often referred to as a ”super-material”. In 1859, a researcher discovered that the graphene structure existed. In 1970 graphene was first added to other materials, and not until 2004 were two researchers able to produce “pure” graphene, but at this point it wasn’t ready for mass production. These two researchers were in 2013 awarded the Nobel Prize for their discovery, and today this super-material is spoken about in revolutionary terms within many fields due to it’s characteristics.
Q: What is NanoGtech?
A: A material based on graphene that removes heat more effectively than any other material, more than 10 times better than copper. Consisting of many layers, where the first layer attaches to the desired item, the middle layer contains the graphene, and the outer layer is a protective and stabilizing coating to ensure the best thermal conductivity.
Q: Does it work?
A: Yes, the technology has been tested and approved over many years by some of the largest research institutes, passed our own tests and those of SGS.
Q: Is the battery always extended by 20%?
A: It is impossible to say exactly how much extra battery time your device receives. This is based on model of device, how much you used your device, and external factors such a climate etc. Tests show up to 20% can be saved through high useage (streaming of videos).
Q: Are there any other strengths of NanoCase and NanoSticker?
A: Due to NanoCase/NanoSticker so effectively removing heat, a better working temperature is achieved. Is is generally agreed that heat within electronics wears on components. This is very prevalent in smartphones where andvanced technology and battery cells need to fit in an extremely small area.
Long term, NanoCase/NanoSticker should have a positive effect on your device as a lower temperature will provide less strain on the components and the battery cells. Most people will have noticed that the battery in our smartphones performs worse after a period of use. This can be derived from, among other things, “ageing”, through battery wear and ageing.
With the thermal conductivity of our NanoGtech material, you can reduce the temperature peaks and therefore reduce the average temperature of your mobile device, which in turn, reduces the wear on your device.
“Temperature is known to have a significant impact on the performance, safety, and cycle lifetime of lithium-ion batteries (LiB)”
Q: Is the material dangerous?
A: No, it is totally environmentally friendly and has no poisonous or dangerous substances.
Q: Can NanoCase and NanoSticker save energy and as a result, have a positive effect on the environment?
A: Yes, by extending the battery we reduce the need to charge.
If 10 million people use NanoCase or NanoSticker, and these users reduce their need to charge their devices by on average 10% per day, we will save the equivalent of 2 million kWh per year.
Q: How do you apply the NanoSticker to your device?
A: This is very simple to do. There are instruction and cleaning cloths supplied in our packaging, The glue is silicone based, and similar to 3M, which allows you remove and reapply the sticker repeatedly.
Q: Is the lifespan of NanoGtech limited?
A: No, NanoGtech never stops working and will remove heat as effectively many years later.
Q: I don’t notice and difference in my battery?
A: That today’s technology generates high amounts of energy in the form of heat is nothing new, but this is of course dependent on a number of factors.
Some examples of these factors are:
Am I using several apps simultaneously?
Which device am I using?
How long have I had the device?
Which network is used? (2G, 3G, 4G)
Am I using wifi?
Am I using Bluetooth?
External factors such as temperature and climate
A: The reality is that even if you are not noticing any difference in actual battery saving, the technology will be working without you realizing it. With normal smartphone usage, you can expect to save between 10-12%, and with heavy usage up to 20%. If your devices doesn’t become warm through a range of different reasons, then there is no extra heat to remove from your device and the NanoGtech material cannot be effective.
Q: How does NanoCase/NanoSticker work in winter climates?
A: With cold temperatures outside already helping to cool your smartphone, your device will not become as warm and the NanoGtech effectivity is minimized. However, NanoCase and NanoSticker does not have an actively cooling effect so this won’t impact your smartphone negatively either.
Q: How can NanoCase/NanoSticker cool smartphones?
A: NanoCase/NanoSticker does not directly cool smartphones. It is the extreme thermal conductivity in the graphene that is the active part of the NanoGtech.
NanoGtech removes heat more effectovely than any other material we know, resulting in reduced temperature in a mobile device with help from NanoCase/NanoSticker.
Q: Is NanoCase/NanoSticker available in other colours?
A: Initially, NanoCase and NanoSticker will only be available in dark grey. We aim to launch other colours and models in the future.
Q: Is NanoCase/NanoSticker dangerous for the environment?
A: With NanoCase/NanoSticker you get the effect of extended battery without supplying environmentally burdensome battery cells. Battery cells are not good for the environment. NanoCase/NanoSticker are environmentally friendly and tested to uphold ROHS-standards.
Q: In which climate is NanoCase/NanoSticker most effective?
A: NanoCase/NanoSticker has most effect in warmer climates because it is the heat that develops within a smartphone that then wears on the device and it’s battery cells. Simply put, the hotter the device become the more effect NanoCase or NanoSticker has. It is with increased heat in the phone that the graphene’s thermal conductivity really becomes useful.
Q: What is it that makes causes a mobile device to heat up?
A: There is often a combination of various factors, and some of the most important are:
Streaming of films
Face-time video calling
Mobile devices age (older devices tend to be more worn with longer processing times)
Q: Why are warm telephones an issue and important, and what does Apple, for example, say about this?
A: Heat in electronic devices is a general problem.
This is what Apple have to say: “iPhone, iPad, iPod, and Apple Watch work best at 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C) ambient temperatures.”
With NanoGtech we simply help to maintain a good working temperature and environment for iPhone’s and smartphones. Surplus heat is removed effectively with NanoGtech.
Q: Is graphene used by other companies or are you alone with this technology?
A: Due to its unique characteristics, graphene is being developed quickly and there are many researchers and institutions developing new technology with it. We are first to market with a product made of graphene specifically for accessories within consumer electronics.
Q: What do others say about graphene and its characteristics?
A: Graphene is referred to by researchers as a “wonder-material”.
Its characteristics are unique, not least when it comes to the conductivity of both electricity and heat,.
This is what Chalmers university in Sweden have to say:
”A layer of graphene can reduce the working temperature in hotspots inside a processor by up to 25 percent – which can significantly extend the working life of
computers and other electronics.”
Q: How is graphene used generally?
A: Graphene is already used within many different areas such as space research, biotechnology and nanotechnology. Within the EU alone, 1 Billion Euros have been pledged to graphene research.
